A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Created by Evie Cundy, Semi Hong, and Taneim Miah.

You are P.I. Private Investigator, a wild card whose life mission is to end the reign of terror led by the crime lord who killed your entire family: the Queenpin of the Red Hat gang. To do so, you must stealthily traverse the warehouse her gang calls their headquarters, collecting evidence in the hopes of finally putting her behind bars. The more clues you collect, the higher chance you have of achieving this. Be careful not to get shot on the way.

This project was created to be a point and click top-down adventure game.

The first level has the player navigate an open level with only one roaming enemy that you need to take down in order to progress to the next level - a key for the warehouse. There is a hidden clue somewhere in the environment that can count towards your final score/sentence.

The second level has you traverse the warehouse setting, finding more hidden clues (8 total in this stage), including a keycard you must acquire to get to the next level. The number of enemies is increased, and they roam a set path to make it harder to collect everything. The player must stealth around the enemies and avoid their lines of sight. If they are seen, they then must retreat before being killed and sent to the beginning of the level.

The third level has the player enter the Boss' office, where they must retrieve a specific clue (the important files) as well as a hidden clue. Upon collecting the files, they will trigger the boss fight where they are caught red handed by the Queenpin and must face off in an epic battle that involves a lot of particle effects.

This game is amazing. The graphics, music and the whole feel make the game have a distinct atmosphere that really sells the story. I found it slightly difficult just because I'm using a trackpad so it was hard to stealth kill enemies, but other than that the difficulty was pretty good. The only improvement I'd make is maybe a menu showing what endings the player has or hasnt seen yet.

This game has a very good aesthetic. I feel like I would pay money for this game, where the overall art,  action, and mood mesh together so well. The game has games within the game, tense moments for a gameplay loop that seems so simple. Adding elements like lore and collectibles also makes the game world seem very much alive. 10/10 game, maybe the best game to come out of the class.

I really loved the art and music of this game. It was also cool to have a story and an inventory that leads to a different ending. I found it to be a slightly difficult game. It wasn't extremely clear for where I should be going and this required a little exploration which was very difficult with so many guards walking around. I guess that it makes it a more engaging game. Very cool game though.

I really like the over concept of the game and the assets and sounds used build on that concept so well. The visuals were amazing. I also really liked the overall gameplay. The boss fight was so much fun.

This is actually my favorite game to come out of this class easily. The aesthetic, the movement, the animations, the bossfights feel effortless and it feels like a full fledged game that I would actually play and enjoy. Adding a WASD function to move would me amazing though. Also, adding more like visual effects that you did certain things such as noises, or like sound effects instead of just music blasting would be amazing.

This game is amazing. Actually such a well designed game.

This game is very impressive on a technical and narrative level. It adds so much in such a short amount of time that I can't help but wonder how it was done.  The fact that multiple endings tie to collecting a certain amount of evidence is a nice added detail that some triple A games don't even bother to implement themselves. The game play is also very enjoyable.  Overall fantastic jobs! (Kaya)

The dialogue system at the begining is a good way to develop the story. Besides, the puzzle and the fight system combined really good. The dark environment and the sound effect provide a thrilling atmosphere. The experience of boss fight is really amazing! Nice game!

I agree with the others on it as well. The visual aesthetics of the game are amazing given the time we had to implement this game. The pause menu was also really cool since you could see the items that you collected. The only other thing that I would've liked would be a health bar in the first two levels for the player.

Everything about this game is amazing from the amazing aesthetic to the boss fight and the fact that there can be different endings depending on your progress adds so much replay ability. I'm not sure I have anything to criticize aside from wishing there was even more game to play.

I absolutely love the visual aesthetics of this game. I think the UI, assets, and lighting really came together to make this game super cohesive with the storyline. Especially with the time you guys had to create this, I think this game's visuals are top quality. I also really like the boss at the end. The music was really nice as well, but maybe including some sound effects for all the attacking would elevate the sound experience.

The text boxes go such a long way in giving this game life, it really roots it as an actual game world. The click based movement did make it frustrating to stealth around. Fantastic vibes tho and cool story, 10/10.

I really enjoyed this game! The movement mechanics were really well implemented and the music/art theme was awesome. The cursor being the magnifying glass was a nice addition, but it was somewhat difficult to find click was happening, especially when using the menus. Storyline and theme were great!

The cutscene in the beginning was really cool! I liked the exposition and how it was used to set up the rest of the game. I appreciate how the enemies' line of sight was drawn out to help the player juke them out. The game definitely relies on timing and knowing when to move at the right time. However, I think utilizing sounds for taking down enemies or collecting objects would help elevate the experience of the game rather than having to listen to the music uninterrupted the whole time (the music was really catchy though!).

Really well made game! Surprised that this was made in a week. The aesthetic of the game is nice, and the gameplay feels smooth too. I also managed to 2 cycle the queenpin by getting them stuck on the desk and then spamming my right click button lol. One small concern is the magnifying glass cursor is extremely large; it would be nicer if it was a little smaller, but other than that, very nice game

Really cool looking game! The UI and art is beautiful. I really like the idea of the mouse being a magnifying glass but its a little hard to figure out where exactly to click, sometimes I feel like it goes to where the middle of the mouse is and sometimes the click responds to the edge of the glass. Also I don't know if this is a Mac thing, but the mouse art disappears and the mouse becomes a normal mouse when you switch screens and go back to the game. Otherwise cool game, it was really fun to learn the movement patterns!

Super sick game! Sick assets, sick mechanics, sick art. I liked how your game have multiple endings. This is the cherry on top of all the other things you incorporated like the sick menu pages,/UI, the boss/enemy mechanics, and the storyline of the game. There is not much I can find that I can critique about. However, I would say the gameplay of the game should be much longer. It felt a bit short other than the boss fight. I guess the multiple endings make up for that though.

Really great theme with art assets that match it. The menu especially has a lot of attention put into it. It's also great that the red coloring of enemies contrasts with the grayscale environment. The AI for the enemies is especially impressive. A couple of sound effects would really elevate the atmosphere, and it is a little hard to see some things with the current lighting.

I really like the steal aspect of the game as well as the UI and how it fits with the theme of the game. The red lines of sight are also really easy to understand and don't need much introduction. Although for the first level enemies can see through cars, not sure if that's intentional. I can also just spam right click and defeat the boss without doing anything so an attack cooldown might be good.

I really like the concept and the idea of the game; it's really creative! I really like the menu items as well. I wish the character was more fitting for the game instead of just blocks to really complete the game.

I really like the entire game -- the gameplay is very smooth and the environment + interface is really well done. The dialogue and multiple-ending system are super cool.  More sound effects would be nice.
